Santa Fe will tackle Colusa County

The Santa Fe, New Mexico Rugby Football Club’s ongoing quest for USA Rugby’s Division 3 championship continues this weekend at the Pacific Rugby Union championships in Las Vegas, Nevada. Santa Fe beat Beach Cities RFC 73-32 yesterday! Stay tuned to see who goes on to the national Final Four in Austin, Texas May 17-19.

Match: Beach Cities RFC

The Santa Fe, New Mexico Rugby Football Club’s ongoing quest for USA Rugby’s Division 3 championship broadens this weekend at the Pacific Rugby Union championships in Las Vegas, Nevada. Santa Fe claimed the Southwest Rugby Union crown with a 38-36 victory over Scottsdale, Arizona in Santa Fe on April 21, and will join Southern California champions Beach Cities RFC of Los Angeles, Northern California champs Colusa County of Sacramento, and Pacific Northwest representatives Clark County of Vancouver, Washington in a four-way competition this Friday and Saturday to determine who goes on to the national Final Four in Austin, Texas May 17-19.

Santa Fe will tackle Beach Cities’ Narwahls on Friday while Clark County faces Colusa County, with the winning teams playing on Saturday to determine the Pacific champions.

The Southwest Rugby Football Union’s 2024 championship tournament will unfold in Santa Fe April 20 and 21 at the city’s Municipal Recreation Complex. Eight teams from Arizona and New Mexico will compete in three divisions for the right to advance toward the U.S.A. national championships in June 2024. Hosts Santa Fe Santos face a tough first-round test against 2023 Division 3 national runners-up Tucson Magpies at 11:30 Saturday while Albuquerque’s Brujos will play Scottsdale, Arizona. The winners will compete for the SWRFU trophy at 11:00 on Sunday. Also on Saturday Tempe Rugby Club takes on Red Mountain RFC of Phoenix for the Division 2 title at 1:30 and the Atomic Sisters of Albuquerque will play the Las Vegas, Nevada Women’s RFC at 3:30. Match: SFRFC vs. Denver Highlanders

The first of four Spring 2024 home events is upon us this Saturday in the form of a rugby double-header. Due to a tight schedule involving other Municipal Recreation Complex users on March 23, our club will actually host two simultaneous rugby events utilizing both MRC rugby pitches. Los Santos will take on olde foes Denver Highlanders, while some of New Mexico’s finest high school players – including our little brothers from Los Alamos - will tackle the fancied Parker Titans, an academy encompassing five Denver-area high school teams. To bring our 2023 season to a close and kickoff the 2024 season we are hosting our annual banquet!

Saturday, February 3rd at the Boxcar Sports Bar & Grill

Banquet will be located at the Boxcar Sports Bar and Grill

It will be a SIT DOWN table service meal with 3 main course choices will be available and there will be a cash bar
